The time has come to say goodbye

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

Folks, the subject line says it all for me. I find myself coming here less and less, and feeling guilty about it. I think its time I cut the BTS cord and flew away for good.

I thought that just not posting anymore and slowly fading away would be best, but reconsidered and think that cowardly. No one has ever made me feel uncomfortable here, and I am glad that the time spent here - it certainly has been interesting, entertaining and sometimes sad. Everybody here are genuinely nice people, with lots of interesting topics. I consider everybody here friends and friends don't leave without an explanation - that isn't very nice. I still post on other bulletin boards - I recognize a signature or two over there.

I guess I feel like I've been stuck in the mud for the past couple of months - just sort of 'same ol' stuff happening to same ol' j.r.' - I've run out of thing to say with you. Rather than prolong the inevitable, I am going to publicly bow out now and say:

ITS BEEN A REAL PLEASURE MEETING AND TALKING TO YOU. EVERYONE OF YOU ARE FANTASTIC. I'M GOING TO MISS YOU ALL. JOY, THANK YOU FOR KEEPING THIS BBOARD GOING - YOU HAVE BEEN ABSOLUTELY GREAT IN TAKING CARE OF US FOR AS LONG AS YOU HAVE.

Everybody take care of yourselves.

j.r....I'm sitting here with tissues in hand reading this!!! You CAN'T leave us :-(! I know what you mean about the "same ol' stuff", but we all have that same ol' stuff. And I LIKE reading about everyone's same ol' stuff :-). I don't post here very often anymore either 'cause I know lots of what's going on in my life is boring to others. But, if you feel the time has come to say goodbye...that's your option. Could you please not make it a pernament goodbye...and just drop in once in awhile to say "hi"??!! No pressure! Besides, Kirk needs a few other men here for support :-)!!

I'm sure I'll be "seeing" you on other forums. Good Luck, j.r.!!!

I hope you'll stop by once in a while and let us know how you and your family are doing. There's no shame in being boring, otherwise there wouldn't be that Chinese curse "may you live in interesting times" :)

I'm wondering if our gene pool here isn't getting too small to support life. I hope not. I say things here that I don't say anywhere else.

Aww,JR. Hate to see you leave us. Not that I'm here that often. Something keeps coming up and I get sidetracked. I'm with Sherri and Marcia, I like hearing about ya'll's boring lives. Makes mine seem normal somehow. Kinda lets me know that I'm not the only one for which works seems to take up all the available time.

Keep in touch and don't forget the pass word.

See, this is where we all agree. You feel that you're boring, but we see it as being interesting. Everyday stuff is different for everyone...

Take care j.r. and Happy Birthday on January 15th

Well I don't wanna add to your guilt (yes I do), but I don't really get why you want to leave, I guess. Can't you just at least occassionally stop in a say howdy and tell us what's goin on in your life? You sound depressed to me, JR.

I for one would love to be gifted by stories of what your little ones are doing. Small children are an endless source of funny and amazing anecdotes, and you are about the only one here with little ones in the house.

Don't leave, you big dummy! <>

Best to you!

I almost forgot, at least come back and let us know next time you get something published. Do you write for any other magazines besides the Backwoodsman?
