CORNINGWARE ELECTRIC COFFEE POT

I have an old Corningware Electric Coffee perculator--works good EXCEPT I lost the electric cord in a move. The part that plugs into the pot is smaller than any cords I can find now. Any ideas on where to buy one???

Fran, Have you had any luck with finding a cord? I am also in need for the exact same reason. My sister gave me my mom's, and alas, there was no cord. Kari

Alas, I too, am looking for the cord. My mom gave me the pot, no cord. I will be going to the thrift stores on a quest, if I can find some I will write you back. I also know they will brew coffee over the stove, if no avail with the cord.

I am in the same boat. Have a CorningWare Perculator from my wedding in 1977. Can't find the cord. All new cords a tiny bit too big or way too small. Wrote to CorningWare. If I get a response, I will let you know.

HEY, LOOK WHAT I GOT BACK FROM CORNING--NOT GOOD NEWS. CAN I USE THIS ON MY CERAMIC COOKTOP? HOW MUCH COFFEE TO HOW MUCH WATER? LOST THE INSTRUCTIONS YEARS AGO. THANKS FOR ANY INFO.

Thank you for contacting World Kitchen, Inc.

Unfortunately there are no parts available for your percolator. All of the Corningware percolators have been discontinued for at least 20 years.

Are you aware that some Corningware percolators were involved in a warning program?

In 1979 Corning initiated a nation-wide warning on most of the Corningware percolators. The epoxy sealant that holds the metal band to the white glass-ceramic pot can become dry and brittle and cause the band to separate from the pot without warning. The handle or band may not become loose.

If the pot is full of hot coffee or other hot liquid, this could be serious. Because of this we recommend that you discontinue use of the percolator for any reason. We also recommend that you do not give or sell your percolator to anyone else.

Should you have any additional questions regarding your percolator, please contact our Help Center at 1-800-999-3436. Representatives are available from 8am to 6pm, EST, Monday through Friday and will be more than happy to assist you.

Sincerely,

World Kitchen

Check out ebay, as I just sold the cord and the tray that goes underneath the pot. Ebay does not allow the coffee pot to be sold because of the recall but you can still get the part. Under search type in electric cord for corning ware coffee pot! Good Luck!!

I was recently given one of these pots and was very quickly able to find a cord at a thrift shop. Granted I was lucky, but the hunt can be rewarding since the cord was sooooo very much cheaper than even the postage on an ebay purchase. Other companies used the smaller cord too.

Despite the warning I use the pot regularly. Its easy to use and easy to clean. I use a filter in the basket; the cheap 4-cup paper ones do nicely as long as I fold the sides close to the sides of the basket.

good luck with the hunt. Cords are out there.
