Is this a "trick" question? QED

Without referring to the Bible at this moment, because I am at work. I feel that it is safe to say that salt will loose all flavor when Jesus comes and takes His church home. We are to be a light among nations, but we are told in Scripture we are going to meet the Lord in the air. Until that glorious day the salt of the earth (prayer warriors, preachers, teachers, the church) is abundant through Jesus who saves fully. I hope this will help! Remember God is the salt and with the flavor; Jesus, life is all good!!!!! Felicia

Mary,

You have selected my all time favorite passage in the Bible, "The Sermon on he Mount". For, it outlines and summarizes what Jesus expects His followers to do. In this passage Jesus ties His illustration of salt to that of light, telling us that His follows should exhibit both the properties of salt and light.

Basically the properties of each of these are two. Light dispels darkness and points the way, whereas salt preserves that, which would otherwise go bad, spoil and rot. Salt also makes palatable that which would otherwise be tasteless and bland.

Jesus further illustrates that we can fail to do either of these. We can hide the light of the candle, leaving other to not see the way, to stumble or fall and we can make not one iota of a difference in the decaying, hopeless, unbearable conditions of men.

When we fail to exhibit the properties of salt we are virtually good for nothing Jesus' illustration implies, but to be tossed out as refuse on a pile of manure.

"Wherewith shall the salt be salted again" when it also becomes corrupt/with no "preserve" ability, unpalatable and bland; no one is being led to salvation and overcoming victory in Christ; the joy of serving is gone; life is unbearable and hopeless at best and people have lost confidence, faith and trust in it?

Thank you all for a response. Actually, I had no answer, and brother Dickens it is not a trick question.

I was reading all the entries on the board regarding several questions, and just thought I would pose the question. Brother Matthews thank you for your response. To me it answers the question to the core. Thanks again.
