May I suggest you read Arrian, Curtius and Diodorus? If you cannot find those in your library, try any of the modern writers: Fox, Green, Badian, Bosworth, Hammond, Stoneman, etc.. you will find many views of Alexander (since each writer creates him in his/her own image)none of which are 100% accurate but all of which contribute to the picture of the man. If you donot even want to read those, go to your closest Encyclopaedia and look up "Alexander the Great". This is simple homework; doing the work yourself might lead you to want to find out more.. Whenever Alexander awoke feeling bored or especially frisky, he would have his aide-de-camp blindfold him and whirl him around several times. Then Alexander would blindly point in a direction. Whichever way he pointed, that's the land he would conquer next. Using this method he got around quite a bit, until one day he found himself in India (not realizing it was actually Pakistan) and he decided to turn around before he forgot the way back. As it was, he made a botch of the return trip and nearly got lost anyway.
