hey, i've been to japan for a holiday but i don't really know much though. well, according to me, the living standards are quite high. comparing the prices to australia, where i live, the price is almost double for food. some anyway. however, other stuff, it's quite cheap, like electronics and stuff. i don't know if the way of life is hard but everyone seems soooooooooooooo friendly! hehehe, and everything is so clean. japan rox (no offense australia)! about school and stuff i don't have a clue!

i know i haven't helped much but...

japan is only expensive because of the money exchange. it seems more expensive. They do not live a harsh life. They have very high living standards, in fact. If you come from another country you'll have to pass a test to get into college. It'll test your knowledge of kanji and how well you speak japanese. and you can't half-ass it either. you have to be really really really good. so good luck! ^_^

The entrance exams are extremely difficult. It takes several mock exams and the "big" test to be accepted into any college. The population also proves a problem as Japan's population density is one of the highest recorded, only a certain amount of people are allowed to enter a certain college.
