The Death of Rev. J. P. Hennings

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

I just received news of the death of the Rev. John P. Hennings, pastor of the St. John AME Church in River Rouge (Detroit area), Michigan. Rev. Henning is a long time pastor in the connection and a devoted man of God. He has pastored in several conferences and was a fixture on the Michigan Conference Board of Examiners. He is also the brother of Bishop Hennings and Rev. E Anne Hennings-Byfield.

I do not have funeral arrangement information as yet but I am sure it will be posted soon. Please keep his lovely helpmate and now widow in your prayers.

The Prayers of our small family go out to Bishop Henning during this most difficult time. Having had the opportunity to meet with and work with Bishop Henning leaves a greater appreciation for him through this time. May God bless all of his family through this most difficult time. Blessings

My family and the Heard Chapel AME Church in the Bermuda Annual Conference are praying for the Hennings family. May God comfort all of them at a time like this.

I understand that the presiding prelate of the Fourth Episcopal District the 96th Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church the Rt. Rev. Philip R. Cousin will deliver the eulogy for this great man of God. Our hearts and prayers are with Mrs. Henning his wife of over 40 years, his many relatives, and the St. John AME Church family.
