Otis Goolean Logic Controlers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

Hi There I have allways liked these descrete component type of controlers, on a whole they are more dependable than software based controls and they are sure much more complicated and interesting to work on. I have asked many Otis service guys and most of them dont know much about them either. I never got a good answer of what is differant about A, B, and CB based controls, most controls have some of each of the boards. I am looking for someone who can help me on some of the logic questions too because the books are not the easiest to use, I can compensate you for your trouble. I droped by Otis in Yonkers once in 1980 while traveling the US visiting other elevator companies and they were building those at the time. I think Otis had the best design of all other companies and they even had it planned for hydros and servo drive jobs but I never saw any of those, the DTL chips are getting hard to get. Thanks Jim

Hey dude...Even if the Otis guys knew anything (unless you actually work for them) they are bound by the Otis company ethics (not to mention proprietary information) not to tell you.....I have just had my arse SEVERLY kicked for giving someone a VERY minor tip...(I was unaware that it broke ANY rules) on a bulletin board and they traced it to me .
