How about the 50,000 Kurds he killed, eh? The Christians got off lucky compared to them.

First Italics off

Actually I have read that Christians had it pretty easy in Iraq. The Secretary of State for Saddam was a Christian. Maybe the difference is that Latin Rite Christians had it a bit hard. But like anti-Bush said, that is nothing compared to the Kurds. This is also besides that fact that it seems that the more the Christians are persecuted the more they grow in faith and love for Chirst.

What are you, Scott? Lost in the dark? So Christians had it pretty easy in Iraq? You mean they didn't all die? A few got away with their lives? I feel bad for every Kurd that died. But Kurds are natural enemies of the Saddamites. They were at war with Saddam; Christians didn't threaten the Baathist government. Christians were not an enemy. All they were was Christians. That's the point.

Actualy I heard on NPR that Iraqi Christians are more worried about what will happen to them under the new government. Even if there are elections, Iraqis may elect many Islamic Fundamentalists to power, and they could face heavy persecution.

I said COMPARED TO THE KURDS the Christians had it lucky. 50,000+ Kurds were killed by Saddam (while America continued to support him...). How many Christians were killed? A few hundred? Maybe a few thousand at the most?

The deadliest atrocity associated with Saddam's regime was the scorched-earth campaign known as the Anfal. During the Anfal campaign from February to September 1988, Iraqi troops swept through the highlands of Iraqi Kurdistan rounding up everyone who remained in government-declared "prohibited zones." Some 100,000 to 180,000 Kurds, mostly men and boys, were trucked to remote sites and executed. Only seven are known to have escaped.

Wow. I had no idea it was that much...jeez, I only thaught it was in the neighborhood of 50,000. Just goes to show you how evil some people truly are. I hope they fry the bastard.

Saddam is responsible for the deaths of about 1,000,000 people.
