Landmark study

greenspun.com : LUSENET : History & Theory of Psychology : One Thread

I am trying to locate the "name" of a study that was conducted in (perhaps) the 1950's, 60's or 70's that used psychologists and psychiatrists as subjects to basically determine the definition of "normal". The results of the study indicated that a normal person had the same characteristics as a normal male. I need to locate this study if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate your time.
