sharing some good news - answer to prayers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Hi all. For those of you who know me and know that my wife is expecting our third child this spring, I'd like to pass along some good news. From day one of the pregnancy, my wife's doctors have been tracking a fibroid tumor on her uterus (non-cancerous), one that started off as being of "significant size" and was expected to grow steadily throughout the pregnancy as it feeds off the estrogen produced by pregnancy (these things can get huge). The doctors told her that it was big enough that it would likely cause her pain and could trigger premature labor, and even could greatly complicate the scheduled c-section causing bad bleeding. They said there's nothing that can be done to it now, but they would watch it and try to deal with it as best they can during the c-section.

We've been very concerned over this tumor and have had our priests pray for her and anoint her with holy oil and we have prayed every night together for God to shrink it down to nothing.

Well, we just came back from a sonogram yesterday and God has answered our prayers - the tumor is completely gone! The very experienced technician was startled and kept looking for it because she's never seen one disappear during the pregnancy - sometimes they can shrink or even disappear on their own afterwards or during menopause when the woman's estogen levels reduce, but not during the pregnancy itself.

We're thanking God for His mercy and healing touch!! Thanks for listening to my news, I just wanted to share it because often we all only hear of problems and too often don't hear the good things that God does.

God bless!

Dave

P.S. We've naming our baby Daniel - couldn't miss it during the sonogram :-)

That is terrific news!

Hey, if you don't mind I'll share a really cool story kind of along the same lines.

This young couple I know were trying desperately to have a child. She kept miscarrying, miscarried 3 times. The problem was she needed to start on a particular hormone IMMEDIATELY upon pregnancy, like within days of getting pregnant, and of course they could never catch it in time. Well, one day they are in church, and they're singing a song about "the river of God." That reminds her that they need to pick up a water filter before they go home. She goes in the store to get the water filter, and right there in the water filter spot is a pregnancy test. So she thinks "well, maybe I ought get this." So she goes home, takes the test, and WALLA, SHE'S PREGNANT. So her doctor was able to get her on the hormone early enough to stop any miscarriage. So she and her husband are giving this testimony while holding their beautiful 1 month old baby girl!!

God Bless Daniel, and Mom and Dad

Praise God! What a poet He is, associating these miracles with the miracle of new life.

Thanks for sharing your joy.

David,

Glad to hear everything turned out well for your family! I wish you guys the best in 2004. I am sure its easier for you to take a deep breath now.

God has been very generous to you and your family. It was only about 26 months ago that your wife and child were injured by a car.

God bless you

Hope and pray all is well with Daniel and your family.

Thanks David, you indeed are a faithful intercessor.

Coming down to the last 2 months now. Chris is as strong and healthy as she's ever been during a pregnancy. She looks like a petite lady with a large basketball hanging off the front of her :- ) Daniel seems like he's ready to join us now - he's extremely active so much so that you can see him move through Chris's shirt.

All is well and we're very much looking forward to holding Daniel in our arms and celebrating his birth.

Thanks for caring, David. God bless you, sir.

Don't trust doctors! That's the first thing to learn from this, LOL!
