You know, for the life of me I simply cannot understand a person who is willing to eat dead things, and won't butcher their own dead things. To me this is hypocrisy. However, it is not near the hypocrisy of a person who will buy meat at the grocery store in little cellophane and styrofoam trays, but won't buy meat from a farmer who actually sells the real product. I was telling a friend the other day, about my sister-in-law whose son won a couple of chickens, and she kept them as pets, and refused to eat the eggs cause they weren't from the grocery store. AMAZING!

And during the same conversation I related the story of a lady I work with who doesn't like to eat the beef raised on the ranch her husband works on. She says it smells funny. I told her that it would probably resemble store-bought if she'd leave it out on the counter for a couple of days and maybe roll it around on the floor a time or two, without washing it off. She couldn't come back to that one, because she knew I was probably right.
