What message will same-sex marriage send to the next generation?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Maggie Gallagher recounts her causal conversation with a college student whose parents are divorced and who doesn't see the problem with same-sex marriage:

"What about you?" I asked him. "Do you think you'll matter to your kids?"

Matthew seemed taken aback by the question. Obviously he had never looked at it from that perspective. He thought for a moment and then followed his train of thought to the only logical conclusion -- a train wreck:

"No," he said. "Not really."

Read the article. Maggie Gallagher "makes the thread Catholic" by arguing against same sex marriage and the problems associated with it.

Wait...so his kids won't love him because he supports same-sex marriage? My parents are liberals, and I love them more than anything in the world. Why would your poltiical or religious beleifs matter to your children?
