Hi, gang, season's greetings!

Oregon how has a way cool subsidy for photoelectric setups. The Energy Trust of Oregon paid us about thirteen thousand bucks towards our roof mounted 3000 watt pv system.

A year ago, I was looking at a 1000 watt system, which would have cost slightly over $10,000, wiith me doing all the work, pulling all the permits, plus paying for some power company required meters, cutoff switches, etc.

For the 3000 watt system, I paid only (!) $7800, and it was totally turnkey! I did nothing but sign the check.

If you are an oregon resident, check it out. If you are not an Oregon resident, check out the PV programs in your own state.

I'd been green with envy for the last two or three years, because my bro-in-law was able to get about half his cost paid by California. Now, Oregon has a better program than Calif did :)

Boy that sounds like a great set-up! Here in Calif. I can't get a discount unless it feeds back into the grid. So I'm just going to buy my panels when I have the money and just keep adding to the system. This however is all in the future. Oil lamps for a while! ...kirk

Hey, Kirk,

It does feed into the grid. Which is how i like it. I am not big on losing 15-20% of the power to battery inefficiencies, and I'm not big on the care, feeding, and replacement cost of batteries. I'm mostly interested in "saving the planet", and doing my small part to use less fossil fuels.

Cheers, JOJ

Ya know I think this planet will win eventually. Even if we kill off all the living creatures earth will just evolve all over again! Start life all over again. Its the poor overcrowded consumer that will suffer! Ha! As for saving people we just DON'T want to be saved! People want to SPEND!

As for me I gave it all up 5 years ago. I just want to get up in the morning knowing I have the whole day to myself. Other folks can have the money and I can have the TIME....Kirk

We can always move to Mars....hey, follow the leader!

He's going to Mars? I can hardly wait. I'd like to GIVE HIM the moon :)

Me too! I will support any program that will transport him and his cabal to a distant planet........

Joe I'm so jealous of your energy independence! Would that we could all live in a state so enlightened, or better yet, a country. I especially would love to have alternative energy on my Madwoman building; I cannot believe the utility bills here! They're way higher for business, even lil ol tiny ones like mine.....not fair. :) Maybe some day..........
