hi There are 4 strokes recognised at competition level and swimming assaciations throught the world. Butterfly - sometimes called Fly Backstroke Breaststroke Front Crawl - sometimes called craw

The are other strokes such as side stroke - A form of breaststroke with one shoulder in fron of the other Also Doggie paddle - A bit like crawl except the arms stay submerged and operate from an extended position to the chest.

Pool sizes? Standard Olympic pools are 50 meters in length Many public pools in the uk are 25 meters though.

hope this helps
