Furnace blower continues to blowgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread |
Hi,Furnace: Bryant upflow model 383k
I have a problem with my furnace blower continuing to blow.. it doesn't stop even after turning on and off the main switch.... i believe as a result the heater never starts....
the circuit board on this furnace comes with a led which explains the problem... "limit or flame rollout swithc is open- defective limit swithc or connections, open flame rollout switch-manual reset"
please advise i don't see a limit switch that i can toggle.

James! Just a guess---is the furnace sooted up--does the flame come out around the burners into the room? Insufficient combustion air will make the furnace burn "sooty" [too rich] and soot will clog the flues in the heat exchanger. If tha'ts all ok the you might check the flame rollout switch which should be located just above the burners on a shield. Try jumpin it ans see if it works. If so--get another switch. If not--call a repairman. Problems will probably be in the circuit board. Please let us know what you find out. old hoot. Matt. 24:44

The flame rollout switch blowing, is a result of the blockage of the vent flu, causing the pressure to force flames from under the heat exchanger. The flame rollout switch is a manual fuse that is good only once, my suggestion is to call bryant and get the part number for a new switch. It must be manually replaced
