All well and good, but I like families a lot more than I like democracy. :) I think that, theologically, it would be closer to the mark to say that the future of legitimate democracy hinges on the family. Without the protection of the sovereignty of the family-- and alongside the promotion of societally impotent, atomistic, and hedonistic lifetyles--a government might still have 'elections' but basically also lose the moral right to exist.
