My father was a musician and played in the pit band at the Tivoli in 1947 or 1948. The show at the time was called "Raise the Roof," starring comedian Jerry Lester, who went on to hosting "Broadway Open House" on television in 1950, I believe. This was the precursor to "The Tonight Show" with Steve Allen. The location of the Tivoli Theater, now defunct, might have been at 40 Eddy Street, but I'm not sure. Thanks for your help.

Check out some photos of the Tivoli at the S.F.P.L. web site. According to the info there Tivoli Theatre #3 was located on Eddy between Mason & Powell, opened 3-12-13, closed 6-28-49.
