Photographs inside Waycross Station Georgia

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

We have just bought a big old desk which we were told came from the old railroad station at Waycross Georgia. We would love to be able to have a photograph of it in it's original place at the station. The desk has what looks like a ticket punch on the right side, and four drawers at the front. It's about 8 feet long. We would really appreciate any help we can get with this.

I assume you mean the ex-ACL passenger station that still stands and is now used by the Chamber of Commerce. I don't recall ever seeing any interior photos, but there may be some - you might try contacting the Chamber office. The only other station (unless you go back to the early 1900s) was the Atlanta, Birmingham & Coast station on Albany Ave., which came down not too long after ACL merged the AB&C in 1946.
