How would you play an rar file?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Community Anime Reviews : One Thread

The files I just downloaded in bittorrent are rar files. When I try to play them in windows media player it says "Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported." So then I guess it can't play rar files. I tried getting programs like WinRAR, but it just left me confused lol. Does anyone know what site offers a program that decompresses rar files ( that is free)? And THEN what do I have to do? I'm a bit new to it all lol.

Get a cracked version of winRAR on suprnova, then when you open up that rar file you d/led from bt, click the extract to button and you will be asked to put the files in a dir. then you can play the files.

i think that you can unzip it with Winzip or something? go to www.winzip.com then go to free trial.download the free trial and i think you'll be able to unzip it...well thats what i think i usually use winrar or something. Hope it works

If you really want a free compression tool, try 7-zip : http://www.7- zip.org/ . Otherwise, you'll have to use Winrar and try to crack it. By the way, the file you want to play is in the rar file, you'll have to extract it first...

WinRAR is a a wierd little program because you never acctually have to pay for it! All it does is bother you to pay the register fee! get it @ www.snapfiles.com and see for yourself. There is no need to pay for it or crack it. I've used it for MONTHS and have never had to pay.

Winzip won't do, you have to get winrar! Just install it and then go to the folder you have the rar file(s) and just doubbleclick the one the ands with .rar or part01.rar and then extract the files inside to whatever folder you want.

Good luck.
