Does anyone know anything about the Stage Door Theater on Mason Street in San Francisco? I have a friend who was a musician and performed there for military personnel during World War II. She was a steel guitarist in a group called "The Hawaiian Four." She remembered the club as "The Stage Door Canteen" but I think that honor belongs solely to the famous New York City Stage Door Canteen run by the USO during the war. FYI, she is 93 years old and though I think she remembers the name incorrectly, she gave me the correct location of the theater. Thanks for any info.

The Stage door Theater was at 420 Mason. The Historic photo section of the S F library has a picture dated 1964.

The site is currently called the Ruby Skye Dance Club.
