No I believe that Poe is not still alive today, because he was at a high point in his carreer and would not of faked a death and gave it all up. I believve that he overdosed on drugs or alcohol.

Poe lived during the Romantic era, which was around 1800-1850. Although many authors flourished, it is Poe who everyone always seems to know ("The Raven" seems to be a education objective!). He died in 1848 from "congestion of the brain" - granted many conspiracies circle his death. So to answer your question, NO Poe is not still alive.
