-- Elpidio Gonzalez (egonval@yahoo.com), March 01, 2004.

My attempts to warn them have been deleted. I don't know who is controlling the forum now. Somebody named "Hollis" has posted the link to the "New Catholic Forum". Something is going on and we don't know what it is.

.............

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 01, 2004.

I have this funny feeling that the thread wrecker is an inside person.

................

Your thread was deleted, Jim. Only the moderator has that power.

......................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 02, 2004.

Could this be true for the Catholic Forum??

1. The threads have been preserved on a backup hard drive.

2. The "Church of Christ" forum was hit first.

3. The "Ask Jesus" was the next attempt to make it look like the mad poster was getting revenge.

4. The "Catholic Forum" gets it bad.

5. Suspects are weighed.

6. But, the entire time it was an escape plan to move the Catholic Forum to a new location.

7. Why did Mr. G go?

8. Why was Mr. J let go?

9. When didn't they reply to my warnings, but instead delete any evidence of the "attack"?

10. Things do add up.

What is going on here?

............................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 02, 2004.

BE CAREFUL with that "New Catholic Forum" link. My browser stalled big time, so I quickly "quit" the application. Maybe, it's just my old browser acting up. But, I'm not putting to much trust in things til I get more info.

.................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 02, 2004.

What the heck??

What are you going on about rod? Lol!!

They all seem to be there and doing fine.

I expect my posts to be deleted...so I am not bothering---but what are you talking about?

-- (faith01@myway.com), March 02, 2004.

Yes rod, I believe you are starting a conspiracy. All the threads seem fine to me. One out of 500 is not an attack, 130 out of 130 in the uncategorized threads is an attack.

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), March 02, 2004.

Faith, I believe I have been completely deleted already.

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), March 02, 2004.

Yes, you all will not believe what Jim, Elpidio, and I experienced with all of those threads going bad. Then, suddenly, they were ok. Now, my question is: How come David could not reactivate these ruined threads as fast as the Catholic Forum did? Something went really wrong last night and I'm still wondering what exactly happened. Those threads (huge amount) were inaccessible. Now, it's as if nothing happened. I email Paul M. He hasn't replied. I smell conspiracy, yes.

So, why can't you repair the threads as quickly as the Catholics, David?

Elpidio and Jim help me out here. I'm looking and sounding like one of Hitchcock's victims.

.......

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 02, 2004.

I can't delete those posts made by neocon@yahoogroups.com. It just won't let me.

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), March 02, 2004.

Last night, I had two choices:

1. to believe that the mad poster was at it again in the Catholic Forum.

2. sit by and do absolutely nothing.

If it was the same sabotage that this forum experienced, it would have been ridiculous to sit by and do nothing. So, I did the only thing that I could do.

I do know that this forum remained intact while the Catholic Forum went "freaky". So, something happened last night. My signaling post went unanswered and were deleted. The least they could have done was to tell me that it was a false alarm (if it really was). But, all signs of tampering were deleted. Very strange. I suppose I don't deserve any explanations. The fact that nothing was replied to me and my posts deleted leaves me thinking that I wandered into something sensitive. Somebody with the moderator priviledges was present during the event.

.............

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 02, 2004.

The sabotuer is somebody in the inside with moderator priviledges. It has to be if you can't delete those posts, yet the Catholics were able to delete theirs. Conspiracy??? Smells like it.

.................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 02, 2004.

rod,

I am the only moderator here.

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), March 02, 2004.

Faith wrote:

"I expect my posts to be deleted...so I am not bothering---but what are you talking about? "

Faith. That goes right along with your doctrine: "Personal Saviour". Think about all of those posts. Think of all of those people with their views, questions, and answers. Think about the Gospels and the teachings and meanings for every poster in that forum. I've had some of my posts deleted, too. But, we do have to swallow our pride and think about the big picture. We should care. We aren't book burners, now are we?

..................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 02, 2004.

Yes, you are the only moderator, as far as you know. I think the Catholic Forum also had that understanding and they had previous moderators deleted some threads, remember?

................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 02, 2004.

Yea, obviously Paul M. doesn't know how to change the password. And nobody can guess my 13 letter password :-)

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), March 02, 2004.

You lost me on this one rod. I have no idea...

I think I'll sign-off.....

-- (faith01@myway.com), March 02, 2004.

Exactly, you didn't even acknowledge the obvious point of my....point.

.............

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 02, 2004.

rod,

You lost me on that one too. Think before you post! :-P

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), March 02, 2004.

You guys need to think after I post. It isn't very difficult to understand what I meant. Just because your stuff was deleted, doesn't mean that we can allow the other's posts to be deleted. It was a rather selfish comment to make. David you need to be careful with your authoritarian comments towards your elders.

.................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 03, 2004.

It would be nice if every one who considers themselves a Christian would join together during times of persecution, as experienced in these here forums. When an outsider/non-believer makes cyber-attacks, we should just sit there and do nothing. Even if our posts have been deleted, we shouldn't just sit there and watch those threads get zapped. I feel that Faith was making that comment very clear. I was just pointing out where we should stand--not seperate, but together. Yes, our beleifs may suffer differences, but we still have a common will based on our Christian teachings. Faith's comments kind of fell apart. Do you agree, David? Are you thinking, now?

You guys don't understand me cuz you haven't walked in my shoes. What's with this younger generation anyway?

.......................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 03, 2004.

Sorry, that should have been:

"When an outsider/non-believer makes cyber-attacks, we should just sit there and do nothing[?]"

..................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 03, 2004.

Yes, Rod.

The restoration of the Catholic threads is miraculous.

Even Jim F. got to see a miracle.

When I checked my threads, the ones affected were the ones where John G is not in them, but at the same time are critical of Jesus divinity.

These were at the ask Jesus and Catholic forums.

John had warned and threatened the forum with leaving , this his second time, if people like me were allowed to roam free. He didn't mention me by name, but he has asked the moderators in the past to ban me. Back in the Decmber, when the firt attack ocurred, he came back to the rescue by restoring lost threads.

Hi Elpidio.

It really ticks me off when people perceive me as being "crazy". But, in this case, I don't think I'm losing my witts. It is rather obvious to us (older guys) that something was up somebody's sleeve with the "sabotage". Somebody is trying to make a point, as you've noticed, too, Elpidio.

We lost about 500 posted messages.

Besides the ones I posted, also all the satanic ones were attacked.

-- Elpidio Gonzalez (egonval@yahoo.com), March 03, 2004.

Does it bother you too that the Catholic Forum came out without a scratch, yet this forum is still in need of repairs?

I keeping thinking that the Catholics have a backup drive or something. They recovered their threads faster than a blink of the eye.

Could it be that the "Recent Posts" was a fake page linking to another "Server Error" page? Could the real threads be safely secured in the server without our moderator's knowledge?

.... ..................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 03, 2004.

I tried renaming the URLs to see if I could stumble into the real page (if that were the case). It was no good; it didn't work.

It seems I can only gain enterance here by using the computer at my office. Can't get in when I'm at home. I think its a "Cookie" thing, but I really don't know.

That was strange the other night. Everthing gone! All back the next day. Not a question asked by anyone, no reports, no explanations. I haven't asked either. Maybe there's a bunch of us over there just not saying anything. But we all know something happened.

If anyone has any ideas why I can only get here from work, please let me know.

-- Jim Furst (furst@flash.net), March 03, 2004.

Jim.

I wonder if it's your browser that won't let you in. Or, are you on AOL? I once received an email from a reader who told me that he could not post anything on this forum because he was on AOL, which cause the prohibited access.

...............

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 03, 2004.

Or, maybe the broswer is just not sending or receiving cookies. My browser once did that to me. It wouldn't send or receive for some unknown reason. I would also get this message that my browswer had reached its "expiriation" date. And, that I had to upgrade to 4.5 or higher. I still use the same 4.5 browser and the problem eventually went away. I think that by deleting all of the cookies the problem corrected itself (You tried that already). I think that one of the visited website may have tampered with the "send-receive" options in the "cookies". I don't know.

you're not going mad, Rod.

you're just a deal more observant.

-- Ian (ib@vertifgo.com), March 03, 2004.

Thanks, Ian.

The mushrooms in my garden mock my every whisper as the trees yell at me when I hear the screams from the blades of grass I step on. No, I'm not going mad. It's the rest of the world that has gone crazy.

Just checking, just kidding.

Made it in!

Before I could only get in here from work...Now I understand the importance of both faith and work. (and input from others)

Rod, thanks for the suggestions, I fussed with my security settings and voila!
