Ocean Row Boat Wanted

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Open-water rowing : One Thread

Looking for smaller version of a ARC class row boat, 18'. Narrower and shorter for inland cruising on protected waters. Retain a small cabin. My vision is a West Wight Potter of Row boats. Not sure if anyone has built one or have any suggestions but any feedback would be welcomed. Would be interested in a used boat I could modify. email me at kko12@hotmail.com. Thanks. Kevin in Montana USA.

Hello- you know both the Potter 15 and 19 have oarlocks as an option from the factory. I would imagine more 15s have them. However, the 15 would be a great boat for what you want to do. I'm sure a reputable boatyard could put in locks. Good luck.

A Bolger Chebacco 20 also might fit your bill. They have a club and website to help people build them. ( http://www.chebacco.com/ ) Yours, -Gary-
