Forum - Public again?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Ask Jesus : One Thread

I really don't want to do this because not all threads are fixed, and probably the poster will come again and mess up more. So threads you guys are really into, can you save them for me? I have copies of over 95% of forum messages, but it is really hard to repost whole threads.

Does the forum have to go public 24/7 or could it be kept private on the days that most of us can't keep tabs on it?

Next question: How can the regular forum members stop another cyber-attack? I know of one solution, but it isn't gonna sit well with the moderator, David.

I think Rod is putting a Good Question.

I want to elaborate on that one. Some suggestions:

-Keep it locked when you go to sleep -Keep it locked on Sundays

or have another moderator to help you. Rod? Faith?

I actually dragged your name to the Catholic Forum board because someone named Jr. was saying certain stuff about people like you, David O.

What do you think?

Rod, what do you think about these discussions I have with Bill and Eugene.

One is about Kerry

the other one is about educators. Somehow he thinks we are a worse group than priests!!!

I use a different one at work.

I'm surprised your posts have lasted this long in that other forum, Elpidio.

I get a sick feeling having to always watch what I say. A person becomes gun shy....ok, repressed. I have two choices: 1) tell it like it is and get banned, or 2)observe, observe, and observe.

It is rather obvious that both choices amount to the same action-- censorship. ..............

Elpidio

I don't think that David would be too comfortable with me as a co-moderator. We can be viewing the same speck and come back with entirely different takes on that speck. I would not censor anything except for Satanic activities that are flat out obscenities towards God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Everything else would sink or swim on its own. So, I would prefer that David do his own agonizing over touchy issues without my direct ability to counter his moderator actions. He would agonize over my input though, as we all do still have a say.

I think that someone like Jim Furst would be an asset to David's moderator duties. Jim seems rather level headed and consistent. He doesn't have an axe to grind, as I've had a problem remembering where I burried mine. So, Jim and David are less flammable than, oh let's say David and (somebody from the other forum). Faith is so beautiful with her creamy approach and tenacious constant that I fear it may ultimately result in my banning. Afterall, I've been sliding on thin ice in the middle of the pond; it's always a matter of time that the ice should crack under me. Ian would be good. He is young and eager. I think David and Ian have a common bond of youth to bring them together under one coat of arms.

Ian? Youth? I thought he was in his 30's?

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), March 18, 2004.

Ian can answer that one, but would you like to know which hand he writes with, David?

..........

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 18, 2004.

I would guess his right hand rod, but since you brought it up :-) I say left.

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), March 18, 2004.

I think Ian is more ambidextrous than me.

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), March 19, 2004.

right handed, and in his 30's.

but a Catholic until his 90's, David!!!!

i will NEVER be anything else. ALWAYS and FOR EVER!!!

PS a grave sinner too, currently, and most likely for the same period mentioned.

PPS rod as moderator -- i think that rod is the free spirit who should not be shackled as Dave is. but if there has to be a further moderator, then rod's clearly the man.

-- Ian (ib@vertifgo.com), March 19, 2004.

Well, David was correct about your age, Ian. I felt that you were younger; your tenacity and energy makes your character vibrant. Or, am I getting older and older?

Thanks for your vote of confidence. David has become wide-eyed in his moderator duties--a good thing.

Be ready for visitors, Moderator David.

It seems that "Ask Jesus" is picking up some interest by skeptics over at the Catholic Forum. If.......If.......they get too curious, they may start asking for access to this forum. Here is a possible chance to get more members to these discussions. The only problem that you may take issue on is that the visitors may be Catholic. But, I have noticed the most recent visitors were "Oneness" and "Calvinist" in there theological make-up.

If this forum remains private, it might seem like a safe procedure. All posters would be accounted for and at their "best" behaviour would be a given(we hope).

Laurent would be a prime candidate for new arrivals. I have a hunch. (No, not a hunchback.)

If anything happens, I'll use the same password.

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), March 22, 2004.

David, glad you reopened the forum. For folks like myself who just look.
