Hydro Cylinder Pumps

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

I would like to find out what is best for pumping out a hydralic cylinder that is 50 foot or more deep. I have seen guys make a seal for the top of the cylinder and use compressed air with a hose to try and pump out a cylinder. I also heard of lowering a pump down the cylinder to pump it out. What works best, anyway to pump out cylinder with out rigging car and taking out the ram. Thank you

You have to use a compressor line(flexible tube outside and tucked in the end, at the bottom) and pvc, I cant remember the formula for how many psi for how many feet but an average 5 horse should do it easily.
