Learning about the customs history and traditions of the culture

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Dalmatian culture : One Thread

I'm a third generation dallie on my fathers side and am keen to learn about the traditions customs history etc of the Dalmation culture as well as picking up some of the language.

My great grandparents emigrated to NZ in the early 1920s and I would appreciate any help that any one could give me in regards to me being able to learn.

Dear Paula-Louise Miller,

Today, via internet services there are many sites written about Dalmatian culture, aren"t there?

Therefore try to find yourself.

In the case you intend to find some specific term you can contact me via E-mail: pantovcak007@yahoo.com

Dear Mladenka,

Why such a tone? If you already know of so many web sites, you could have noticed that people usually do have to start somewhere when they have questions to ask.

Dear Paula-Louise,

I would suggest that you buy an electronic pocket translator, there are even models that talk, and to take a trip to the old country. Visit Dalmatia and your forefathers village or town, eat the food, breathe the air... Not only will you learn much more than any web site could offer, but you will have something to treasure forever.

Best of luck to you!
