Answers

Just keep Windows Media Player 9 (and your Real if you use real and Directx which is not a codec) and remove all other codecs & players. Download K-Lite Codec Pace 2.25 full at http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm and installed it. Try that and tell me if that works...

I did what you said but now I can't see the movie. The sound is OK but when I try to play it in Real or Windows Media Player I don't see a thing!!! All I see is a blank screen (black to be exact^_^). Is there anything else I can do or something wrong with what I've done? _? PLZ HELP ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

I hope I'm not bothering you.

Just to add something to my previous response, something happened when I installed the K-Lite codec pack. My other video files screwed up (they just won't play right anymore). Is it the K-lite codec that's causing this problem? Should it cause a problem? Cause if it is then I don't want it.

1. Have you remove stuff like ffdshow, DivX codec, BS Player,MV2 Player.

2. There is a player that comes with k-lite codec pack that called media player classic, try to play your file with that player.

3.Have you used the "Gspot Codec information" that comes from with k- lite codec pack. Open your video file with Gspot and check what codec has been used to encode. When you click "Render" in Gspot, what codec in your computer is used to decode that file. Worst case it may be an configuration in the codec (divx, xvid).

4. If it still doesn't work, try a extreme measure before punching your computer: reinstall media player 9, remove and reinstall k-lite codec pack, make sure you have the last driver for your video card...

5. Still doesn't work, you might need some real pro help. Maybe you'll need to ask the question on some video issue forum

1. I uninstalled ffdshow, all DivX stuff, MV2 and VLC players.

2. I tried to use the Media Player Classic only strips of the movie showed on a green background. All the other video files worked on it ^_^

3. I previously installed GSpot before getting the K-lite codec pack and rendered the movies MANY MANY times. Same results happened even after I got K-lite codec pack and rendered them (horrible results).

4. Reinstalling Windows Media Player 9 ruins other Media Players including itself. I uninstalled K-lite and reinstalled it and when I checked on GSpot some codecs were missing!

5. Where can I find other people/forums that can help me?

I was better off before getting K-lite T_T

Thanx for your help Andy ^_^. You and I tried. -_-

Green lines... Ok try this. Make sure that you have your k-lite codec pack installed. Click Start>Programs>K-lite Codec Pack>Configuration>Divx(click on it). You'll see the configuration panel of divx. Click on "Quality Setting" Tab. Make sure that "Yuv extended Mode" and "Support Generic Mpeg-4" are both checked, click OK to finish. Try to play that movie with media player classic and see if that works...

I can't seem to complete the re-installation for the k-lite codec pack. My computer says that an error occurred when it tried to re- write a file (e.g. divxdec.ax + a bunch of other stuff). I know I completely deleted it before + the other codecs. I also can't delete this file because it's "in use" or "locked". I am so confused ?_? Do you know what to do?

Have you tried to install the codec pack "the 1st thing" after you are in the windows? It's weird, because none of your application should be using codecs when you just arrive in windows...

IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!! I HATE COMPUTERS >_< (bangs head on computer after shaking it a couple-hundred times)

-- HUGE Inuyasha fan (rpkm_tran_0729@hotmail.com), April 07, 2004.

NOW IT WORKS!!!!!! >_< I HATE COMPUTERS!!!!!! >_< NOW I'VE GOT A PROBLEM WITH **BOTH** MOVIES >_< AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! The audio and the video are way off. Example from second movie: When Kaguya is supposed to talk, you here Kagome talking, then the picture of Kagome comes. The video is slower than the audio. Is there another codec or something I can try? If you think I should stop bothering you just tell me. ^_^ I can be rather annoying (so can my computer) ^_^

OK This is a dumb question but how much Gigabytes does your computer have?

(After posting message: Why did I put that up? STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! Now I'll be the laughing stock of the entire forum. :-( Note to self: NEVER post messages like that again)

I'm SOOOOO bored -_-

-- HUGE Inuyasha Fan (rpkm_tran_0729@hotmail.com), April 16, 2004.

OK I've decided to give up on the I-can't-watch-my-movie thing. I'll just play mix 'n match with the players and the codecs 'til I find a combination that works.

ARIGATO SO MUCH FOR YOUR GUY 'n GALS!!!!!!!! ^_^ (especially Andy Tsao)

play it with BSplayer, it takes up less free memory than those other players you listed.

Tried it ^_^

I'm new to the site but I think I could be of some assistance. Try downloading the divx player. That will often solve your playback problem.

You should have downloaded the k-lite mega codec pack 1.0 because it has all the codecs you'll ever need including some of the newer stuff like ogg vorbis, monkey audio and mpc files. Ever since I've started using it I've never had a problem playing my videos. You just have to make sure you deselect real player and quicktime components before installantion if you already have these players on your system

In addition to the divx player I recomend jetaudio for everything else. Its got pretty awsome feature for a free player and it has plug- ins for most formats out there. If you had k-lite mega codec pack installed you could easily play everything you want on wimdows media player 9 but you may not get the smoothes playback

Have you tried the core media player?

-- Anonymous (td@dodgeit.com), July 02, 2004.

OK listen, I don't know if you are still reading these, but this will solve your problem (hoepfully), I've had many problems and went to many forums and blah blah blah (once I spent 120 hours trying to figure something out heheheh, it make me go crazy!) UNINSTALL EVERYTHING that's a codec, then reboot - NO SHORTCUTS, uninstall EVERYTHING THEN reboot - everything man I'm serious, no no don't leave that uninstall it! good, done? ok now, install the matroska pack (http://packs.matroska.org/) it's the first link - make sure you say install full - for everything, install full!!!! NOW REBOOT - I'M SERIOUS REBOOT! ok good ur back here, now, install the k-lite mega pack (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm) it's the first link that says download. Once again make sure you say install EVERYTHING (FULL). NOW, u guessed it - REBOOT!!!!! now, everything should be just goddamn FINE! but maybe not, try it out and if there is no sound then just go the the 3ivx confiurator and in the audio section click "use unsupported codecs" or something like that. There I hope this helps it really should.
