Is This Wrongful Termination? Is There a Case?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Law Of The Workplace : One Thread

A recently terminated employee has suggested filing a law suit for Wrongful Termination, claiming that she was defamed by a memo that she received in connection with her termination. This memo was distributed only to the employee and my business partner, and dealt with the issues that lead to the termination. The accusation is that I "jumped to conclusions and falsehoods of which are both slanderous and defaming of my character". While the specifics of the memo are disputed, they were included based on facts that were known at the time, and at no time were used to defame the employee, which the former employee believes to be the basis of the wrongful termination.
