Were there women present at the last supper?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

On the ABC show they said that there were women present at the last supper. I'm pretty sure that the Bible doesn't say that, however, was it likely--how likely?

Thank you, Sharon

There is no scriptural, historical or traditional basis to support such an idea, much as some feminist theologians would like to think so.

Of course there were. SOMEBODY had to clean up afterwards!

Hee hee, I'm trying to irritate my wife here, so don't get too irate with me (unless it's for teasing my wife, then feel free to go on as big of a rant as you wish).

Whenever the Jews counted people at this time and they would say, "There were 12 present," what they meant was, "There were 12 males over the age of 13 present." Women and children were not counted. Considering Jewish traditions, it is unlikely that women and children were not present at the Seder.
