Soundtraxx Decoder & Bachmann Shay

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Wiring for DCC : One Thread

I have a Bachmann On30 Shay with a Soundtraxx DSD-B2TSLC decoder running with a Digitrax Zepher. Everything works fine except I can’t change the volume on the exhaust or Air pump. I’m no steam expert so I don’t know which is which. I change the CV 122 and it still is very loud. The chuffing rate and volume is ok as I installed the cam. Can anyone help?

I don't believe they are independently adjustable. I have asked for this feature, but it doesn't seem that anyone else besides me and you that thinks this is a good idea.

The air pump is the sound that's going after the loco stops, the volume cv for the air pump is #123. The exhaust is the chuffing, it's cv is 122. both of mine are set in the decimal 70's.
