Parting Out '68 Apache Mesa 1

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Apache Popup Trailers : One Thread

For Sale:

Our soft side 1968 Mesa's box (left rear) was damaged beyond repair when we lost a wheel four years ago. Has been parked ever since. Tent was replaced eight years ago (with new canvas for Mesa II), and is in very good condition EXCEPT for some rodent damage on left bunk walls. Roof panels are undamaged.

Other parts such as cabinets, bunk end tent rails, bunk end supports, stove, sink, lift crank, Apache letters, tail lights, door, step, table, etc. may have restoration value.

We would like to realise some salvage value, but are more interested in "organ donation" to keep someone else's Apache on the road. Please e-mail or call if you could use something.

Alas, after June 30, 2004, any remaining parts will be sold to the aluminum scrap dealer, and this frame becomes a canoe trailer.

Pictures Available.

Hi. We just acquired a 1977 Cimarron, one of the hardsided models. Would be interested in Apache letters (White), Bins for the kitchen cupboard (please provide dimensions--don't know if they are the same or not), rear taillight lens (the ones that look like footballs with ends cut off) without the backup lights (all red). Maybe you could email a picture of the taillight. Do you know what caused this terrible disaster? Was it lack of wheel bearing maintenance so that we could prevent a similar misfortune?

Hello, I have a '68 as well and would be interested in the front jack and the bolt that hold the step up while traviling as well as the step. Thanks.

I don't know whether mine is the same model, but my 1968 Apache pop-up is all canvas, too. The bearings are shot in one of my wheel hubs. Is there any way we can tell whether you have the part I need? My beloved camper is headed for the same fate as yours if I can't fix this.

You should be able to get the barrings at any RV, or Auto part stores I would think. Just take the old in and show it to them.
