Who does this Pope guy think he is anyhow?

(2003) The Holy See maintains that a decision regarding the use of military force can only be taken within the framework of the United Nations, but always taking into account the grave consequences of such an armed conflict: the suffering of the people of Iraq and those involved in the military operation, a further instability in the region and a new gulf between Islam and Christianity. I want to emphasize that there is great unity on this grave matter on the part of the Holy See, the Bishops in the United States, and the Church throughout the world.

702 American casualties in Iraq as of April 17, 2004 103 Coalition troops 8000-10,000 Iraqi civilian men, women and children

VIVA BUSH!

This is propaganda:

The Holy See did not maintain that a decision regarding the use of military force COULD ONLY be taken within the framework of the United Nations. That would negate a countries right to self defence. This would go against the Church's just war teaching (see the Catholic Catechism if you want a definitive teaching one war.

The only people reporting 8000-10,000 Iraqi civilian casulties are socialist anti-war websites, which were against the US going into Afganisatan as well.

In Christ,
Bill

Some can't accept the war in Iraq is now nightmare, for Iraq citizens, American administration and taxpayers. No WMD & no emminent threat to USA, stated reasons for invading. Truth is painful. Best to keep head in the sand, make up new reasons why there had to be war, say pope is wrong, church is wrong, all while people are dying terrible deaths everyday. My friends, you do not fool anyone. What you raelly defend is your own pride.

what about israel?

its a much bigger situation than WPD and oil (in fact, oil has NOTHING to do with this. most of our oil is imported from canada, mexico, norway, the UK, and i believe peru).

there is unfortunately more pain and bloodshed now (what do you expect when you are dealing with the stone-age mentality of muslim extremists), but the idea is to build a country that works for its citzens-- just one small step towards universal peace.

i mentioned israel--

my point was that these actions preserve their security, as well as that of the fragile democracies in the mid-east, that the saudis hate (like abu dubai (sp)).

We all need to understand what this is all about. The Islamisists want ALL non-Arabs out of Arabia. That includes the Westerners in Israel. They have declared war on all countries that aid Israel and Western influence in Arabia. That includes the US. We only really have 2 choices, get out and abandon all aid to Israel and other mid- Eastern states, or fight. We need to actually listen to what the Islamisists say and not hope they don't mean what they say. It is obvious they do, and ignoring them lead to 9/11, and will lead to more 9/11s.

Yielding to them only incourages them (remember Blackhawk Down and the USS Cole).
