What is the actual word for demon? I know it must be youkai but how come InuYASHA is spelt differently. Inuyasha's name is suppose to translate into "dog DEMON". Why not just call him Inu-youkai? (It sounds wrong doesn't it?) But at least the meaning is clear.

Inuyasha's name is translated into inuYASHA because he is only half demon. They call him Inuyoukai only when he is in his full demon form.Yasha means girl demon in japanese but it can also be used as a word for half demon.

P.S. I got this info from a friend that is in Japanese classes so I am sure it is right.

They keep her alive in her new body. She was brought back to life but without her soul because Kagome was her incarnation. The souls act as a replacement soul and keep her from dying, thats why she is so weak when Kagome cast the souls she has collected out of her.

Karen Drago does not exist. She is a completely made-up character that someone posted. She has never been involved in the manga or anime. P.S. I am glad that I could help you with your questions!

What is Inuyasha's mother's name? I heard it was Izayoi but then someone mentioned Aniki. Which is it?

A 1/23 demon is called a Hanyou (Han being 1/2, you for youkai). I just assumed that Yasha (while I knew it was female demon)was a synonym for demon, just like you can also say Ma (IE MAjin Buu, Piccolo DaiMAou, etc.).
