I hear Alexander was small but how small was he?

I don't think he was too tall or too short, most likely the ideal height for a horse rider. My gut feeling is that he about 175 cm or so. There are no accurate sources on that.

I was watching a series on the Roman Empire, and they figured that the average hight of a soldier in the greatest army of that time was 5 foot 2 inches tall. Can you Imagine how funny that would look these days against our modern soldiers... I know this has nothing to do with Alexander's height, but hell it's interesting... (wink inserted here)

after looking through numerous sources, the most reliable (Fox, Rl "Alexander the Great' [among others]) quotes Alexander at 152 cm, about 5'0" (59.84")

Alexander the great wasnt very big he was about 145cm sure it sounds tiny but people those days were shorter if he was born now he would proboly be about 165cm

One source states between 4'9" and 4'11" another estimated him to be 5'6"
