Is it possible to fit a decoder to a De Witt Clinton and if so any suggestions on how to and what decoder?

I don't think there is any space inside of a DeWitt Clinton to put a decoder. The best you may be able to do is conceal a small decoder in one of the carriages.

Your next challenge is that the power pickups probably consist of metal straps going directly from the wheels to the motor. You will need to break this connection and solder on the decoder wires.

I was thinking about hiding the decoder in a false roof in the tender (drive).
