You too, Kevin. You are the closest to my beliefs, except for the divinity of Jesus.

You know I still believe that Jesus is not Yahweh our God.

Bye for now Elpidio!

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), June 18, 2004.

Thanks David. I need a break.

Yesterday was a happy and sad day: over 60 of my students graduated.

They released doves at the end of the ceremony.

Elpidio,

Have a great vacation!!!

I know that you don't believe that Jesus is God and when you get back, I would like the opportunity to PROVE to you that Jesus IS God.

-- Kevin Walker ("kevinlwalker572@cs.com"), June 18, 2004.

I will be in touch, Kevin.

Hope to debate with this summer, Kevin. Though is a little bit harder for me since I hold primitive Church ideas and beliefs too. A kind of getting to the origin of the Church of the first century.

That is why , Rod, and Jim have been sharing ideas for so long, even though they are Catholic, they also want to get to the bottom of things.

Hey, David, can you do me a favor, in EZ board,

in the World Religions and Cults , can you put me as

The Way-The Church of Yahweh in Christ Jesus

That is the name I have chosen.

It would be a good way for me to show forum members where I stand since I belong to the newest church on the planet.

Thanks.

welcome back roddy, the forum has been quite without you :p

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), June 19, 2004.

Thanks, David. It feels good to be back home. Once again, I can eat all the Mexican food I can get my hands on! I can cruise Hwy. 83 doing 30 m.p.h. and fit right in without the funny looks from the other traffic. Illinois has such pleasant weather; I missed the 100 plus temperatures; I thought I was gonna croak! The water here doesn't spew out of the faucet at 60-40 degrees; it is a pleasant 110 degrees. Ah! and the rude in your face attitudes the Valley has...just wonderful! I got tired of talking too much and being so polite, my face was beginning to crack. Illinois people are so nice, I thought I was at Disney Land or something, except their flies actually bite. Our flies just sit there and eat all of our food.

There was a time when Illinois had a higher motorcycle population. I think the Valley has caught up with them or even exceeded Illinois. Man! how I wished (Texas slang) I had a motorcycle up there in them winding roads of Dekalb-Rockford area. Maybe when I retire?

I saw a few Catholic Churches up there. I even saw non-Mexicans wearing t-shirts with the image of the Virgin Mary on them. My eyes were playing tricks? Nope. And I always thought the Virgin Mary icons was a Mexican cultural thing, boy was I wrong.

I sad point: Dekalb-Sycamore-Rockford has very little to offer as far as musical instrument stores. The Valley is rich in musical stuff. Although, they do enjoy band concerts in the park. If we had in the park activities, we'd have them in the winter. Yup, winter. 80 degrees is winter down here. 60 degrees will get people in a panic and overly crowded H.E.B. grocery stores preparing for the Apocalypse. Then again, 80 degree weather in Chicago will have people swarming to the public water fountains in order to survive the heat wave. They tend to burn quickly under the sun. I didn't even sweat, but I did burn!

I'd like to thank Hometown Buffet. I ate like a pig. Many of my compadres seemed to have settle-in quite nicely there in Cherry Vale.

It's good to be

Have a blessed and relaxing vacation Elpidio!

-- Andy S ("aszmere@earthlink.net"), June 19, 2004.

I'm still wondering why Elpidio asked me to add his church under the "World Religions and Cults" section on Ezboard..

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), June 19, 2004.

Elpidio, I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Rod, Good to see you back. I lauged while reading about your adventures!

David, I was wondering the same thing about Elpidio's church. Perhaps he considers himself as part of a "world religion"? Or perhaps he thought you would consider it a cult?

-- Emily ("jesusfollower7@yahoo.com), June 19, 2004.

Yea, he probably considers it a "world religon".

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), June 19, 2004.

David,

I thought of another option due to Elpidio's knowledge of the Spanish language. In Spanish the word "culto" is used for any type of religious meeting, and it is not a derogatory term like it is in English. I doubt that any member of a cult would refer to their own group as a cult in English, but in Spanish-speaking countries, I heard people talking about going to the "cultos", meaning to the church services.

I think the equivalent to our English word "cult" would be "secto" in Spanish, much like our word "sect." Thus, it could be that Elpidio thinks "cult" simply means church service. I think Rod will be able to correct me if I've gotten anything wrong as far as the Spanish goes; after all, I'm only a student of the language.

David, do you know Spanish? I've wondered this due to your last name and your being located in Texas, but you never mentioned anything about it. I was just curious. Do you know about this word "culto"? Perhaps we should inform Elpidio if he doesn't know what he's implying to about his own church to English-speakers!

-- Emily ("jesusfollower7@yahoo.com), June 19, 2004.

Emily,

I would think you probably know more spanish than I do :-) I have heard of the word, but I thought it meant cult.

But I'm sure Elpidio knows what I mean by the English word cult. He would see his church under the category "World Religion". I just grouped all the small religions that people don't know about, and some that are just plain cults under that category "World Religions and Cults". Basically it's an "Others" section. But I see how the "World Religions & Cults" could imply everything under that category is a cult.

-- David Ortiz (cyberpunk1986@hotmail.com), June 20, 2004.

Emily

In reference to the word "cultos", you are correct about its meaning in the Spanish context. "Cultos" is not a negative word when used in its cultural sense and meaning. I have even heard it used to mean "retreat". I think that Elpidio is able to use words within their contexts and such is the case with "cultos".

There is one key ingredient about Elpidio that everyone seems to overlook (or maybe I'm the one not seeing it in everyone). Elpidio is setting out to have his own church. I also believe that he is already a pastor. I may be wrong since Elpidio has not exactly made it 100% clear or public. I may actually be jumping the gun here, but based on all of his posts, I think the writing on the wall is evident to such an idea.

"Cults" on the other hand are a big "No,no!"

Elpidio may see Yahwism as a "World Religion" for the simple fact that it involves peoples of all religion walking into his church one day.

Nah, it's clear. It's just been a while so maybe we've forgotten.

That's not Elpidio's latest revelation. You must remember what God told him to do.

I should let Elpidio do the talking, though.

Thanks, Jim, Rod, Andy, Emily,...

I am back to work. Summer schools is back again!

I found a discussion on the word cult: Cult meaning a church following the ideas of one man/woman without consensus or organization , or another word for Protestant Churches in Spanish is secta.

Culto is used for Protestant services most of the time.

Culto means veneration for Catholics when they pay homage to Mary, the Saints,...

Culto means well acquainted with most areas of learning: Philosophy, history,...

Misa is the Catholic Church Service. In Spanish: Voy a misa. I go to church. Also, El padre celebra la misa, the priest celebrates mass.

I see Christian Yahwism as a worldwide phenomenon. I still have to repeat to people what I am when I say: Christian Yahwist (Cristiano Yavista).

I think Luke is right on that so far: until the Pope dies.

Is that a new revelation? The second was last year, 2003, in April.

This third one was on Sunday July 4, 2004.

I saw a line of over 123+ fampous or important people who would die in the next 3 years:

.....Antonio Aguilar, Fidel Castro, The Pope, Margaret Thatcher?, George Bush, Saddam Hussein, .......

The Pope could die before October 15, 2004.

Do you remember our first conversation about you starting your own church, Elpidio? I believe I was the only person in the Catholic Forum to pickup on that revelation about you starting your own church. I knew you were up to that way back then.

Your post looks fake, Elpidio.

They say Rod, that imitation is the best form of flattery, but here I don't think so.

The previous post is not mine, as you already know.

Is this the return of the the problems we had with Tom/plus many names when he imitated us before?
