What's the best for finding anime and manga? irc or usenet?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Community Anime Reviews : One Thread

Well, I know a little about usenet, and you an find some anime and manga on it, but some people say Irc is better. Thing is, I don't understand anything about irc, can someone help me out?

Both IRC and usenet are old school filesharing applications that predates napster, they both have their flaws, but they are probably the best place to grab files fast. I have only seen a friend demostrate to me how usenet is used, and I believe problems that can occur with usenet posting was the life span of a file and that some binary parts of a file were not uploaded to the group for one reason or another. I've been using IRC for awhile, and you really need to know the right channels and irc networks if you want access to fast file servers. Since I never used usenet myself(although I plan to learn it in the near future) I can't give an opinion as to which is better for now, I might get back on this issue later on though.
