NICKEL PLATE PRODUCTS TURNOUTS

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Wiring for DCC : One Thread

I recently picked up a couple of Nickel Plate Products turnouts; one because they were inexpensive and two because they were #5's and left hand which I needed on my lay-out which will be DCC operated. Are these turnouts DCC friendly and if not how easy it to convert them to friendlyness? Or are they not worth proceeding with? Your expert advice is appreciated. Steve

Steve,

Unfortunately, I have never seen a Nickel Plate Products turnout. So I can not offer you an opinion. Compare the switch to the DCC friendly turnouts on my website. http://www.WiringForDCC.com/switches.htm The turnout needs to be like one of the ones shown to be DCC friendly. You can also compare it to one of the many listed on my page. If you find that it is similar to one of the ones described, you can use the same instructions provided with that particular turnout.

Sorry I can't be more of a help.
