What makes a quacking duck and a cooing dove?

The quacker has a bigger Bill.

You ticked me off, dude!

I regret that I cannot fly as high as some birds. My flapping wings have just so much lift, but not enough to migrate with the great birds. Those birds fly faster and higher; they leave me behind to flutter on my own. Ducks fly together; owls just watch and wish. But, they must know quite a lot, hmm? I'm happy my Bill is not as oversized.

I used to believe that being Christian involved good natured behavior and peaceable relationships and discussions. I'm naive. I'm still wishful.

Hi Rod,

I'm not quite sure what got you started on this thread. I think I could use bigger wings though.

The "quacker" in the thread got me thinking about Quakers. I have always found them to be very nice people with good intentions. I've been impressed by them and wish more people were like Quakers...at least the ones I've met and know.

It is already irrelevant as to what got me started. What really matters is that, yes, it would be nice to be like the Quakers instead of the quackers when it comes to sharing our burdens and points of view. Soft words tend to make controversy less abrasive or offensive.

Thanks, Jim. You've always maintained a calmness with your conversations (as many others, too).
