Pray for Priests

Because the priesthood was instituted at the first Mass, which was offered on Holy Thursday, Thursdays have been designated as "Pray for Priests Day".

Lord Jesus, may Your priests always seek holiness despite human weakness. I pray that they will strengthen us with their conviction, courage and perseverance in the full teachings of Holy Scripture, Sacred Tradition and Your One, Holy, Catholic Church, without fear or compromise, even unto persecution. Amen.

O Divine Heart of Jesus, be with Your priests. Amen. ********************************************************* Each day pray: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love You very much. I beg You to save the priest I have spiritually adopted, who has abandoned his prayer life and is in danger of losing his vocation. Amen. (Rosary, Hail Mary or small sacrificial act..fast etc) Also try going to Mass on Thursdays and offer it up for all.

God Bless.

Emily,

I have been meaning to send this prayer and it seemed to be the right time considering the subject I was on earlier. If all would remember to fast and pray for all priest on Thursdays then things can only get better. They are human and need our prayers most. We need good Shepherds to lead souls to heaven and the better they are the more souls for God.

God Bless,

Arlette

i like the first prayer... the second one is a take off, however:

Each day pray: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love You very much. I beg You to save the priest I have spiritually adopted, who has abandoned his prayer life and is in danger of losing his vocation.

Jesus, mary and joseph, i love you very much. i beg you to save the life of the unborn baby i have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.

i rather like the original a bit better. nevertheless, our priests are always in need of our prayers and the intent is right.

rather like the original a bit better.

***I take no credit for these prayers. Funny I hadn't noticed they were the same only words changed. There are a few Catholic prayers that are very similar and on more than one occasion I will start with one prayer and end with another. :oP

God Bless.
