Response to Transcultural Nursing

Loyola, First nurses need to value and support diversity, and recognize the difficulties many of our patients and colleagues face, those who are viewed as different or that represent something we do not understand or even do not like. The importance is that if we do not recognize cultural differences in nursing care, what we consider as necessary or appropriate care for the patient could very well be far out of place, and not understood or accepted. Unless cultural differences are taken into account, we cannot provide optimal nursing care for all patients.
