First AME Church announces it’s new Male Accountability Ministries.

FAME church under the leadership of Rev Cecil L. “Chip” Murray continues its example of Leadership in Community services with the announcement of a three-component, proactive answer to the issues that confront all African American males.

“Helping Husbands”, “Brothers Like Me” and “Brothers of Action” are Groups listed under the Male Accountability Ministries founded by Minister Michael R. Jackson of First AME.

“Helping Husbands” is a once- a -month study that focuses on male issues and questions that arise from during the first year of marriage. This component lends to strengthening the family and identifies the male role and responsibility in the marriage.

“Brothers of Action” for Christ will focus on the male’s responsibility for community protection and leadership. The focus of this component will be to recognize the problems that exist in the African American community including gang related crime and become pro-active, through God’s direction, in making the community safer.

“Brother Like Me” is a leadership component of Male Accountability Ministries in which men will be trained to teach other men. The concept is a perpetual small group study that will transcend occupational, denominational and racial barriers.

The Male Accountability Ministries will hold its first session with a Breakfast and panel discussion on the Male role in our Community at:

First AME church 2270 Harvard Blvd Los Angeles
August 14, 2004 @ 9 AM Plaza Level

Keynote speaker: To be Announced

This reflects less than what's expected from First AME Church. I wish I lived in the Los Angeles area and/or knew some folks in that area. I would certainly send them by to attend these sessions. God bless you and keep up the awesome work!

I'm sorry Rev. Harper, I meant "no less than what's expected" actually (SMILE). Sorry for the typo! God bless!
