could you tell me if you are married and have a property in joint names and know that one of the partners is going to file for bankruptcy can you sign the property over so the house is only in one name thus avoiding it being repossesed

If you did this, the transfer would be set aside if you went bankrupt and the receiver considered that the transfer has been made with the intention of depriving creditors.
