Who did something stupid today?

I did.

Dropped an airconditioner out the second floor window. Gary and I tried to surprise Glenn (who, of course, complained) and put something in the wrong place. Glenn and I fixed the one easy but when I had Gary help me with the second, I told him to hold it a certain way, thinking it was easier...as I watched it roll down the roof and into the night.

Since I was crying, I didn't get yelled at, which was a blessing.

I wonder if it's covered under my homeowners insurance.

Not today. An advantage to being a hermit is that if you do something stupid, as long as EMS doesnt respond, nobody knows :>)

I do something less than intelligent everyday!!! Buuuuuut I haven't dropped an a/c unit yet. Mostly cuz ours is broken but still in place. Heey! Maybe if I "accidentally" knock it out then Richard will FINALLY put that window back in!!! Then again it took 7 yrs for him to replace a lightbulb in a fixture I couldn't reach...........

Seven years! Good grief, Alison, doncha have a ladder? :)

Last evening while sitting in a movie theater watching the silly "the village," because we had to make ourselves scarce whilst the house was being toured by two different parties, it occured to me that I forgot to check to make sure the flooring guy who is installing a new floor in the basement had closed the gate that keeps the dogs in after he left. (did you follow that?) So I sat and worried the rest of the movie that Isis was running around terrorizing the neighbors and getting filthy in the woods after just having paid 70 bucks to get her groomed so she would be nice and pretty for her new family which has just informed me that they have changed their minds and are no longer going to take her. whew!

I don't believe I've ever been under this much stress in my life. Trying to manage the dogs, keeping the house immaculate at all times (cant really live here anymore), running back and forth to town to work on Ali's room where we are stripping the multiple layers of wallpaper, each one more hideous, and still keep the business going. We really should go to the National Night Out this evening and get to know more neighbors(several have already come by and introduced themeselves) but I am not sure how we are going to get there. Yesterday I had so much on my pea brain I totally forgot to pick up the CSA food, so someone at the food bank will be the beneficiary of that. That's two stupids in one day.I think this is a good idea, Dee! I'm quite certain I would have at least one entry per day!

Heck...I do something stupid everyday! But last Saturday's stupid stunt was quite laughable. Harry and I went down to the dock with our little 10 ft. aluminum boat that we pull our lobsters traps up with. It was a spur of the moment decision to check the traps...in between rain showers! Finished up with the traps and pulled the boat up to the floating dock that's parallel to the boat ramp. As usual, I waited on the dock with the boat while Harry backed the truck down the ramp. When he was ready with the trailer, I started walking the boat towards the ramp and caught the sole of my sneaker in one of the grooves of the dock. No problem...I just stumbled and continued. Went to move in the opposite direction to straighten out the boat and caught the sole of my OTHER sneaker in the same groove!! Down I went...headfirst...almost into the boat! My left hand grabbed for the post of the dock, my right hand grabbed for the stern of the boat and most of my weight (which I would consider to be substantial!) landed on my left knee. Harry was hollaring at me to see if I was okay and all I could think about was getting up quickly before anyone saw me floundering like a fish out of water :-)!! Then we sang the "Spongebob Squarepants" theme on the ride home... adding a few extra verses of "drop on the deck and flop like a fish"!!

Anyways, that's what I get for wearing holey, worn out sneakers and rushing to beat the rain. Now I have a few good-sized bruises and a swollen knee that refuses to fold under me. I would have faired better if I had let myself fall in the water :-)!!! AND...we didn't get any lobsters!

EM...Didn't you like that movie? I haven't seen it yet, but someone told us it was good. Should we NOT go see it??

Marcia, don't go by my opinion, but I thought it was silly, especially annoying cuz we paid full price, which we rarely do, so the four of us paid over 30 bucks and then another 15 or so for popcorn! cripes!

I don't like it when they make retarded people look dangerous, and there were so many holes in plot it was embarassing. Interesting idea, but IMO not very well developed. It was fun seeing Ron Howard's delightful daughter in a lead role though; she's adorable.

I wanna go see Delovely next!

Hey there Alison...where you been?

On a good note, it wasn't an expensive air conditioner. Got another one for $109 with a $20 rebate and 5 yr warrantee (hum, wonder if it covers window problems?) In the book, in big print, it says be careful not to drop unit out the window. Guess it happens often. My agent for my homeowners says it happens all the time but I had a $200 deductable.

EM, I heard that the village kept playing scary music with nothing else happening, that it was more of a love story then anything else.
