Medjugorje what is the Truth ?

What is the Truth about Medjugorje.? There are so many questions around it, including the obedience to the local Bishop, the question regarding a message saying 'all religions are equal before God' and also the message regarding 'the Poem of the Man God' written by Maria Valtorta which Our Lady reportedly said it is okay to read it. This book was condemned by the Catholic Church, is Our Lady going to ask us to disobey the Church....??? So yes there are fruits of conversions in Medjugorje, but these can happen through the normal workings of grace, and the sacraments of the Church, but there are also many questions which put a shadow over the whole event.

Hello Anne,

Someone on Catholic Answers' ""Ask an Apologist" forum recently inquired about Medjugorje. Apologist Michelle Arnold provided an answer and a link that might interest you.

God bless,

As the authenticity of the apparition in question, I can only say that in my opinion I believe it to be true. I visited the place in August 2002 and dramatically changed as a result.

I do know for a fact that there is no approval or condemnation from Rome herself, as the apparitions have not ended and the commission promised in the '1991 Statement' from the Bishops of Yugoslavia, was never set up as promised due to the Balakans war.

Priavte pilgrimages, as far as I know are permitted

Also Dr. Navarro Falls, Official Spokesman for the Vatican said that church has never said that Medjugorje is false as it is still keeping an eye on it. This was reproted in the National Catholic register
