help please - photos of famous psychologists

greenspun.com : LUSENET : History & Theory of Psychology : One Thread

I am looking for photos of famous psychologists with perhaps short biographies that I could display on a classroom wall. Does anyone have a source for me to contact? Thanks.

Hi Judy.

Yes, finding pictures of 'famous' psychologists can take time. Since you didn't specify what level of class you will be presenting to I guess we'll assume that you will be starting with a library search under "history of psychology." That will provide with a set of standard photos which might suit your needs. If you require a more specialized set of text sources you might try the following too:

You don't want to miss the wonderfully whimsical portraits in Nicholas Wade's Psychologists in Word and Image (MIT Press)--the portraits all in some way reflect the person's theories. A few samples are posted on Dr. Wade's website at http://www.perceptionweb.com/wade/
