What do you all think of this?

I believe in this and I have made most of it up as I have gone along. I have carried to an extreme the theory of survival of the fittest, or natural selection. This doctrine teaches that all living things reached their present forms through a gradual development of those qualities which best fit them to live in their present surroundings,(war would most defiantly create some sort of punctual equilibrium effect). Those that are best adapted live on, and produce a new generation that will also live on. Those that are not fitted to their surroundings soon give up the struggle and die. I have applied this same theory to nations, and claim that only those nations that can abide by the law of natural selection are in fact the only nations that will survive. War is the, and inevitable world condition, and that that nation would survive that was best able to fight. I believe in war, because I believe that just as nature moves weak animals on this planet to an early death, so the weak nation should pay the penalty for its weakness by being defeated and in turn being absorbed by the stronger more superior nation. War proves a nations perfection, and pushes its evolution further.

As a result in my last paragraph, my nation’s speech, literature, religion, armies; in short manners, customs, and thoughts of my nation—are the best possible manners, customs, and thoughts. These things all taken together is called Kultur (kool-toor’), not meaning merely “culture” as the latter word is generally used.

Since I believe our “Kultur” is far superior to everything else; I think that we shall go out and Christian/American/Westernize the planet. Posing our “Kultur” on the heathens of this world is what must be done. If possible this will be brought about at other nations consent if not they must then prepare for war.

All this sums up Militarism—Militarism has been defined as “a policy which maintains huge standing armies for purposes of aggression.” It should be noticed that indeed our nation has the most advanced fighting force with numbers somewhere (not totally revealed for national security) between 2 and 3 million.

A more narrow minded definition would be, “Militarism is a form of government in which the military power is in control, and with the slightest excuse can and does override civil authority.”

Reasons for war: 1) War is good for business 2) To gain land and natural resources 3) To form colonies for an ever expanding population 4) To gain honor 5) The survival of the Fittest 6) Need to spread our Kultur

Catch-22 is an excellent book, you should read it, Lt.

War OTOH is just a bunch of kids getting killed so a couple of bigshots can get their way on something. Look at WWII. What good did it do? How many million people would still be alive today if someone just shot Hitler, Stalin, and Tojo in the heads right about the time they *started* spewing their crappola? Surivival of the fittest should start by capping megalomaniacs.
