When Alexander reached egypt and built Alexandria he marched back toward persia and subcontinent, why he did not make exodus to the rest of Africa lying in front of him after reaching Egypt?

Answers

Between himself and the rest of Africa there was a howling desert, scantly populated with poor people. Very, very poor people. People so poor there was no sense in trying to take what little they had from them, since they had almost nothing to take.
