types of Poe's short stories

Do you know if Poe has classified his own tales into different types; e.g. horror, detective, etc. If not, how are these traditionally classified by critics?

Thank you, Ieva

That you have to judge by genre anthologies or how Poe sold and repackaged collections. He himself obviously divided comedy from horror and faux non-fiction yet crossed and incorporated genre lines in a general consistence of theme and personal message. "Premature Burial is a good example of all three. Faux non-fiction, autobiographt, horror, comedy. Symbolic stories and futurist prophecy are more odd."Colloquies of Mauna etc." Poe invented the detective story by crossing genre lines and blending.

I think that Poe did great peices of literature. His short stories are an inspiration for other to write their own mimi stories on events that they like, whether it be murder or fantasy, they are all good.
