Ordinarily, the word "horror" would be written in lower case letters. However, for artistic reasons, Poe probably capitalized it in order to amplify the effect of the word.

In contrast to the dry and business-like style of the writer's narrative, the word "Horror" occurs as a startling shock. The reader would now want to continue reading this story in order to learn what made the series of events so fearful and frightening to the author.

Poe was an extraordinary artist. Every word is used for a reason. To ask why the word is capitalized is a very good and perceptive question. It leads to answers that reveal the superiority of Poe's work.
